Heating Up, Cooling Down.

Things have been heating up around here at OKA b. with rising temperatures and our Summer collection in full swing. But when it comes to designing, things are cooling down fast!

As we get ready for our Fall delivery, there are so many things to think about!

New colors…

New trends and embellishments…

New merchandising…

…along with photoshoots, catalogs and posters, trade shows, marketing & keeping you in the loop too! With that being said, this Fall, we will have some brand new surprises as well as some favorite familiars from the past. We’ll have sneak peeks for you soon that will have your toes pirouetting *wink wink* with glee.

Style Your Summer

Lets face it, OKA b’s can and will go with everything!  But something we can’t stress enough….color! And as you might have caught on, we are absolutely addicted to it!  Don’t hold back  and show your true vivacious personality.

Oranges and Pink’s have been stealing the show this season, but of course there is nothing wrong with pairing a splash of color with some of our neutral shades like Pearl, Licorice, and Camel.  All is fair  in the creative game of color matching.  It’s all about letting go and giving yourself a little flavor and spice!   And did we mention COMFORT?

Busy Busy OKA bee’s

Things have been busy here at OKA b and we would love to share what’s going on in our world.

We have been working hard for the debut of the Summer 2011 catalogue. Just between you and me…. I have seen it and we are SO ready to share it with all of you….and it is simply stunning! Stayed tuned for this upcoming May for the release!

For summer we decided to change it up for you a bit and introduce a new mold for our Summer collection. With this mold we’ve added a 2 inch heel and a sleek detailed design…Keeping it comfy with a little lift….every girls dreams? Perhaps!

So, this past weekend, I slipped on my first pair of OKA b.s for 2011. With this warm weather upon us, I got super excited about enjoying my favorite springtime activites. Then I remember all those holiday cookies I ate. But what better time than early spring to get back into shape while having fun? First you need the proper gear. I will admit… I am kind of a nerd when it comes to colors! Nothing gets me going more than a fantastic color or combination. But a truly great color is nuanced and subtle, something that can be easily overlooked. That’s why I love Pantone. They are undoubtedly the leading créateur/forecaster of everything fabulous in the Color world. Not only are they on top of the most current fashions and trends, but their technical expertise in hues, tints, shades and tones are unparalleled. Every season, I eagerly await their prediction of the “It” color. Pulled from hot trends and international runways, this Spring, leap for Honeysuckle!

My Cute (affordable) Holiday Outfit!

The OKA b. Holiday Party invitations were sent out today and naturally, I mentally list all the items in my closet. What am I going to wear? And for some reason, the answer is always ‘nothing.’ Between eating lunch and checking  e-mails, I managed to find some great bargains online and put together a great holiday outfit. After the madness that was Black Friday & Cyber Monday, I needed an outfit that looked great and was affordable too! Just before I proceeded to checkout, I thought it would be good to share my finds:)

Totaling $121.23….for a full, accessorized, (did I mention comfortable?) semi-formal outfit, I am totally giving myself a thumbs up. Oh, and if you work for OKA b. like I do, you may be able to snag a pair of Averys free-of-charge

An OKA b.asket Idea

This weekend, I went into full-effect hibernation mode. It was nice and just what I needed from my usually hectic weekdays. But I felt myself missing a few things, which gave me this idea! For all you holiday travelers and gift-givers, put together a little Hibernation Basket for friends or family. Be creative and customize for whoever you’re giving to, but here are my basic necessities for keeping cozy this Winter:
